My account was frozen. What should I do???
I have used my SSN for my other account. I cannot verify this account.
I think I am in trouble. Do they really give you the money back to your bank account after 180 days?

Can anyone help me???

I am under 17, and after they put my account status on limited, they asked me to fax them shit so i did, and they found out i was under 18.. i called the customer service and they said sometimes they make exceptions and let locked account transfer funds and then lock tthem again so i got excited, so i did the bullshit they said, and they go" unfortunately theres nothing we can do until you turn 18. I am furious!! its christmas time and i cannot buy my family presents now. thanks paypal

I do not own a credit card because I have no need for it, but would like to have my account verified. Unfortunately, after mailing PayPal they told me there's no other method to do this. Well, that sucks. Not everybody lives in a state where credit cards are common (and expensive).

Hi guys....

Help & advise needed, I sold a top class designer item for £250.00 to the usa I am in u.k.

They paid on the Monday, files a goods not recieved on the wednesday stating they knew goods were never going to arrive!

I sent goods on the Tuesday (too late to stop them)

I used on line tracking & have tracking number.

Paypal found in buyers favour so they have my goods & now want my money, I have a negative balance of £250. I used my husbunds credit card when I signed up for the account, if they debit his card he will kill me!!

The thing is I have recieved the most disgusting abusive emails from the buyer which started on the day they filed the claim laughing at me saying they are taking my money etc & theres nothing I can do.

Even fowarding these to paypal they are not interested, this buyer set out to scam me from day 1.

I dont want to be hounded by a debt collection agency, but I am so angry why the hell should this buyer take my goods & my money.

what shall I do, I am trying to fight they dont care, if I ignore it I will be hounded by paypal & debters.

If the guy was decent to me then fair enough but to expect goods from uk to usa in 2 days is impossible, I also dread opening my mail box because of this chap, he is vile & disgusting & I am no prude.

Here is the short version of the story. Please offer any advice! I sold about $2K worth of to a buyer with a confirmed address internationally. I promptly withdrew the money after reading all the horror stories and that was successful. However a few months later the buyer files a claim for 'item not as described'. Paypal refunded him his money within 48 hours I did not even have a chance to respond. I did not do anything wrong as I sent the goods as described and have proof they were received. Now my account has a -$2K balance and I do not feel I should pay it however now I cannot use paypal and I am losing out on thousands of dollars of sales every week.!! Please advise. Thanks!

We have had to close your account for the following reason:
Dec. 24, 2005: Recent account activity has made it necessary for us to collect additional verification information.
This limitation of your account privilegies can't be appealed.
The funds in your account will be held for 180 days, due to the risk of outstanding chargebacks and complaints. After 180 days, any remaining funds will be available to you for withdrawal.

Another $1650 blocked for 120 days for no reason given and no appeal possible! thanks for that xmas gift PayPal!

A buyer legally bought a firearm from me through a firearms auction site. Both buyer and seller are licensed by the BATF and the sale was in accordance with BATF regulations. Trouble is, the buyer paid through PayPal which is a PayPal policy violation, since Paypal does not apparently allow firearms transactions. PayPal kept 2.9% as a transaction fee, since the buyer used a credit card. Then, PayPal informed me that money had been added to my account and subsequently closed my account and seized all funds for the policy violation (buyer does not maintain money in his account so my funds were seized). No charge-backs, nothing illegal, both buyer and seller satisfied with the sale and my feedback is 100% on all auction sites (over 300 feedbacks). PayPal has used various reasons for their actions, even claiming I had buyer complaints, which is false. The complaints PayPal employees referred to were not complaints against me, but my complaints about 3 fraudulent sellers. My loss is about $700, not much in comparison with other's losses, but important to me nonetheless. The FTC has oversight of PayPal, but complaints to the FTC result in canned answers that are not helpful and miss the point. I am considering legal action, but first want to exhaust all possible remedies. I would appreciate any valid suggestions that might yield the return of my funds. PayPal has told me that they no longer want a business relationship with me though I was never a problem before Paypal seized my funds for a buyer's actions.

own a rather clean gay website that provides chat software. I have been using PayPal for years with no problem. My site is very clean with no nudity or graphic/obcene content but yet they closed me down...twice!

I am writing this to share my experience with PayPal and in general the problems with running a business using them. I think this experience will make anyone think twice before using PayPal for financial income.

I am the author of a shareware program called “Chat Client”. This software allows people to chat on websites that offer Java based chat without having to use Java or the web browser. It’s downloaded approx 1000+ times daily. This software is generic and doesn’t use a specific website but will connect to multiple chat sites, including a site for def people. Most of the people downloading it use it to chat on the Gay.com website. The software doesn’t contain any spyware, adware or banners. I own my own chat site called GayBoi.org. This chat site doesn’t contain any nudity or banners etc. It’s the cleanest gay site you may ever visit. I hosted the Chat Client download from GayBoi.org as well as my company website http://www.soltekweb.com/chatclient .

To allow me to collect revenue from the software I opened a PayPal account and used the donate functionality to collect money that enabled me to pay for bandwidth and development tools used to maintain the chat client. I created the PayPal account in 2000 and it was working great. I was making enough money to support the site and pay the ISP bills. This carried on until Dec-2004.

On Dec-2004 I received a email from PayPal stating that my account has been limited (closed) and that I was to remove all PayPal logos etc from my site!!! The reason stated in the email was that my account was linked to “Mature audience content”, what are they the morality police?? My site is clean you can browse it safely from a workplace. I promptly contacted PayPal customer service and they couldn’t give me an explanation on the phone as to specifically what caused them to close my account. I emailed, phones, emailed and phoned. I must have spent more then 3 hours on the phone in total and in the end I received NO explanation as to what URL, content etc was the basis of the decision to limit my account.

On Jan-2005 I created a new account with Ikobo. Ikobo is not nearly as big as PayPal but they seemed like the best option. So I emailed Ikobo prior to making an account and had them look at GayBoi.org and Soltekweb.com to make sure they didn’t violate the Ikobo AUP. They indicated that all was well (as I expected) and I proceeded to make a merchant account. The cash flow was about 20% of the PayPal figures I was previously seeing. After about 2 weeks on Ikobo my account was shut off and they refunded every payment I received to date. I promptly telephoned them and I found out that the phone number was incorrect on my account profile, they treated it like fraud account. It turned out that the form I filled out I switched 2 digits by accident, and it was clearly a typo. I also provided faxed visa and business account statements to prove I was legit. After all that they re-instated my account but I never recovered the lost 2 weeks of money.

On Feb-2005 I was instructed my a CSR from PayPal that the only way to get back with PayPal again was to create a new account and they couldn’t see any reason why my account was limited. So I created a new PayPal account because Ikobo wasn’t doing so well and by this time I was getting used to the income from PayPal and required it to pay the bills. During this time frame I had to pay the ISP bills out of my pocket. So it was a relief to get PayPal working again. This time I moved all the PayPal stuff and the chat client download page to http://www.soltekweb.com I didn’t want to give PayPal any excuse to close my account this time. If they thought the word GayBoi.org was offensive then I will simply not use it where the PayPal donate buttons where located.

On Apr-29 this account was limited for the same reason! WTF!! I telephoned them and they told me I could try to appeal it but yet again no explanation as to why, they only state that I violated the AUP. This is the wording of the expination

“Apr. 29, 2005: In accordance with PayPal's User Agreement and Acceptable Use Policy, we have closed your account. Your funds may be held for 180 days from the date of your last transaction. After 180 days, you will be able to access your funds by requesting an online bank transfer or, if applicable, a check from PayPal. Please update your address or bank information as we cannot be held responsible for checks issued to an incorrect address. We do ask that you please remove reference(s) to PayPal from your site.”

On one hand PayPal is popular and works very well, I had once emailed them complementing them on the good service they provide. If your account gets closed or limited then they suck big time. Firstly they can close or limit your account and not give you any specific explanation. I looked at the PayPal AUP and if they enforced it to every account I am sure half of e-bay auctions would be deleted. The fact they can close an account and remove a source (in my case only source) of revenue is way too risky to run a business on. Secondly they cannot put you in touch with a human to speak to regarding this. You have to email them and wait 24-72 hours for a appeal letter response. If my account is deleted I at least expect a reason! I indicated this to the CSR and he said that he would pass it to his superior. In both cases I never received a warning letter stating that I was in violation. Had I received an email stating the problem and giving me time to correct it then I would have gladly fixed it. They do not give any warning whatsoever. How can anyone run a business under those conditions?

My only explanation for all this is that PayPal is biased toward homosexual people. After all I can purchase a dildo on E-Bay and use my PayPal account to pay for it but I cannot receive money for a Chat Client program that is hosted on a clean site entitled gayboi.org. I responded to all emails and chargebacks in a timely manner, I see myself as a good company. PayPal states on the mature theme section of the AUP “PayPal will not include sexual preferences or viewpoints as a factor in determining what goods or services are prohibited under the Mature Audiences Policy.” But I think they do unless they can prove to me otherwise.

Conclusion
I am no longer able to accept money and I gave up on payment processing companies in general. I think if you’re considering using PayPal that you make sure you have a backup revenue source or face the risk of the right-wing PayPal AUP department. PayPal states that they are good for business; I bag to differ on that point. In order to be even considered they should fix these problems.

They can close your account without warning, no letter or communication is initiated prior to taking action (closing) on the account. You do not have a chance to comply even in the event of violation was accidental or un-intentional.
They will not provide a specific reason as to why they closed/limited your account. Just a blanket generic response.
Allow for a telephone conversation with the person or department that closed your account. 24-72 hours response time via email only is unacceptable in a critical situation.
They appear to be biased to homosexual people. If you’re not gay (or your business) then you only need to worry about the other reasons.

I was doing a transaction with a UK seller. I made 10 payments on &$900 a piece to make up the $9k. This was advised by a paypal agent to cover me if anything went wrong. After the transaction the seller did not respond to my email so I got to thinking and placed disputes on the payments. That night the dude sent me 4 tracking numbers. I waited till monday, called the UK Royal Mail office and enquired about the tracking numbers. They were all old ones for items shipped in August and before. With that I called PayPal and got to the dispute and resolutions department. Spoke to an agent and told them the story. He said he was entering in all the info and it would be sent to some department.

Well I never heard a thing till last night and I got an email that stated...

"In response to your complaint, the seller has provided proof of shipment indicating that the item was shipped to you. Therefore, we cannot reverse this transaction or issue a refund. We encourage you to continue to work directly with the seller to amicably resolve this dispute."

Today I called them up and when I confronted them with the evidence again, they had no answer but to tell me to email the complaint resolution department with the info I had and they would look at it again. My question is what the hell do they do in their investigation department besides dick with peoples business and money?

I would like any information that can put me in touch with a darn good attorney to persue this as to me that is straight out fraud on Paypal's side as nobody could have possibly investigated a thing.

I'm a legit Business Owner and started to sell XBox360 on my Online Store. I was not expecting, that PayPal will freeze my Account, because I had them in Hand. After receiving an e-mail with notification that my Account has been limited, I was straight on the phone. They requiered my Business Information and Invoices to my customers. I faxed them over with good will, but nothing happened. I talked to many Managers and one promised me, that my Account will be fully accessible in 24 - 48 Hours. Nothing happened either. I'm on the phone again, I had to find out, that this s... Company run twice my Credit Report without Authorization, closed my Account and hold almost 800 USD as security for up to 180 days in it.
I talked to my Lawyer and PayPal has 30 Days to respond to his letter. If not, I'll take them to Court and will fill a law suit against them.
So, don't recommed anybody PayPal. This are one of the horrendoused companies I worked with and never again. Secure and fast??? That I don't laugh. Making money of my money. Just bald-faced.

hey all, heres my little story...i listed a item on ebay for a 5 day auction, had over 30 bidders fighting for the item. the item was won for the top bid of $399USD + $6USD postage and handling. the buyer had 50 positive feedbacks...and is a verified/confirmed paypal user, so i saw no problem using paypal for this transaction. the money went into my paypal account $399USD, so i withdrew the full amount into my canadian chequing account, all went smoothly. it took 5 business days for me to recieve the money into my cheq. account. money was all there so that made me a happy seller. Until paypal sent me a email telling me ...

It has come to our attention that you may be the recipient of potentially unauthorized funds. We have initiated an investigation into this event. In the meantime, we have placed a temporary hold on the funds in question until the investigation is complete.

that was 20 days after the money was in my hands, why did it take them so long to figure that out? now just today they sent me another email telling me that they have come to a decision in the matter and....you got it! im fully responsible to pay back the money now. can they get away with this? what should my next move be? please help...i have a hard enough time affording a pot to piss in, i dont need this bill now.

i'm SO TIRED of paypal, jesus christ. ok they've screwed me over multiple times, they claim to have buyer protection, no they simply side with the buyer 100% of the time. heres my lovely happenings with them

first...well first time this year, someone bought a reciever from me, showed it working in the photo, sold as-is, etc... they get it, apparently it was damaged in shipping...or they had a broken one and wanted a new one...anyways, they remove 200$ from my account, and hold it for a month, then they refund the guy, when he gives them a "tracking number" well paypal employees wealth of intelligence is apparently a bit shortcoming, because i never recieved the reciever back, i tell the buyer, i tell paypal, i get no reply's.

next well theres like 6 times now, i'm done with paypal from here on...but anyways the most recent, this jackass from puerto rico (who feels 100% that he lives in the USA...) buys a camera from me, i ship it...he never gets it...hmm, so i give them the tracking info, he gave paypal the WRONG ADDRESS...once again i never recieve the item back, i called fedex on that one and they sent it to oakland california to thier warehouse for some reason...so at least i'll get it back, but i ship it, i do nothing wrong, and i'm sitting here with nothing but my **** in my hand, while these jackass's get thier money back?

i wish the head of paypal would bring his @ss to phoenix and have a talk with me, i'm so tired of this bs. they have excellent "buyer protection" but they are unaware of "seller protection", i'd hate to ship stuff through ebay with no tracking, i bet theres guys who buy stuff on ebay, and upon getting it, if it has no tracking, they file a claim with paypal, the morons will of course refund them even if you have a receipt for shipment... rules so no cussing so #^@$ YOU PAYPAL!!!

Hi there, I have been dealing with paypal over 2 years, and most of my customers use it. However I didn't have a problem with a customer, or complaint but suddently my account got limited due to address verification, I still provided them with all documents necessary but they keep it limited because apparently they want more docs, but they don't know which ones. After a consultation with my partners we decided to file a lawsuit against paypal, we have over $26,000 in a paypal account and can't just let it disappear.

My questions are:

1. Does Paypal have an address/office in Canada or do we file a lawsuit to their main office in San Jose?
2. Is there a class auction lawsuit that is still open and we can join in?

I recently purchased virtual/intangible goods on eBay and paid of course instantly with Paypal. Seller never delivered the merchandise, I filled a claim with Paypal which resolved yesterday, it said in a "1st" e-mail that they were in my favor and refunded me, great, problem is same day I get another e-mail from Paypal stating that they have reviewed the case further and that I am not covered by Buyer Protection Policy and that I now have 3 days to GIVE BACK the money to the seller otherwise they will take it from my account!?!?!? WTF is that, they give me my money and then ask me to give it back, I'm pretty sure my account will go in negative balance if I don't, what should I do? Before someone told me that it was a mistake to be a "Seller" on eBay for virtual goods but I'm not sure anymore because the buyer is not protected EITHER, but Seller might/is ending up with money in the end, !?

I've been going through a NEVER ENDING nightmare with Paypal & eBay that started way back on 11/23/05. Now, almost a month later and AFTER ALL two minor Paypal problems were COMPLETELY resolved- I still cannot put any Paypal links or logos into my eBay listings. Paypal blames eBay and eBay blames Paypal. I've e-mailed both over more than 20 times. I spoke with both on the phone 6 times combined. EVERY SUGGESTION THEY GIVE RESULTS IN NO SOLUTION! I'm a very decent, empathetic person who has never intentionally harmed/ripped-off ANYONE IN MY LIFE! In fact I've donated over a million sports cards to sick children and have been fighting fraud in this hobby since 1992.
About 14 months ago I had a heart attack and had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance. I had like 12 items with bids that ended a few days after I was admitted. I have no friends or family who could help me. So I wound up with 12 negatives. That caused me to have a 97% feedback percentage which I still have now.

Now on to the details:

I had a buyer who claimed that they received an open (never sealed with the glue wax paper cover still intact) & an empty envelope from the Post Office. I sold him a hockey sports card for $38.00. That was my best profitable card in over a month, so I sent it with Delivery Confirmation at my expense with my $2.00 S&H fee (the postage was .83 cents for the 2.2 ounce weight) because the buyer did not pay for insurance (I have the usual disclaimer in all my listings) and I cannot afford even a $10 loss. He filed a Buyer Complaint with Paypal stating "Item Not As Described". I thought he had absolutely no chance of winning since I sent the item with D/C and online at USPS it stated "Item Delivered".

I have a multitude of medical problems that started at age 34 in 2001; badly herniated disk L5/S1 w/bilateral sciatica causing SEVERE pain, two heart attacks from Vioxx w/a 50% RCA block (2004 & 2005), a thymoma (cancerous tumor) from Myasthenia Gravis (a rare form of MD) and shortness of breath for absolutly no reason that is NOT associated with my heart probelms (all recently discovered in August). eBay has been my only source of income since 2001, because I cannot work & have been fighting for 30 months for Social Security Disabilty.
I was quite sick so my Thoracic Surgeon told me to go to the hospital ASAP, but I kept putting it off because I had eBay items that had just ended. All my eBay items for auction ended on Nov 7th, 2005. I went into the hospital on Nov. 17th (a ten day buffer to see if there were any problems). I also put Auto-Response ON in my Yahoo Mail explaining that I had to go to the hospital for a week or so. I was in for 11 days.

The day I was released I checked my eBay e-mail account IMMEDIATELY. The scum of the earth won the $38 dispute! Apparently there is a loophole he knew about in the Paypal system that allows bidders to win disputes if they claim to have received the envelope (sent with D/C or not) empty & open, BUT MUST state " ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED" which is NOT the choice that normally would be made. What item? He claimed he didn't receive any item??? The normal choice is "NOTHING RECEIVED", no?

There was one other bidder who filed a Paypal Buyer Claim the same day the other complaint was won. Can you believe that a buyer would file a claim because he was missing one $1.00 baseball card in a lot of five sold for $4.26??? PLUS HE KNEW I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL BEFORE FILING THE CLAIM (he e-mailed me directly first)!

Because there were two claims, my Paypal account was frozen, my $27.00 in my online balance was reduced to $12.00 when Paypal gave the claim winning buyer $15.00. WHY DIDN'T THEY GIVE HIM THE WHOLE $27.00??? The day after the claim was made, I had a seller trying to refund $34.65 to my account. PAYPAL WOULDN'T LET THE MONEY IN, EVEN THOUGH I OWED MONEY OUT!!! Nothing Paypal did made any sense.

Then I find out that I cannot list anything on eBay. I kept getting a generic ERROR message after I clicked "Submit Item". I thought they suspended me, but they did not. It turned out- after fighting with them for a full week that I had to manually remove all Paypal links & logos from any listings in order to be allowed to list anything. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THIS BY ANYONE, I HAD TO FIGURE IT OUT MYSELF!!!

I immediately sent three cards of the same value as the missing one to the one buyer who complained (he was a real nut job), and sent the rest of the refund (in protest) to the other buyer.

You'd think everything would be fixed regarding the Paypal links with 48 hours after everything was in order, right? WRONG!!! Neither eBay or Paypal knows WHY I cannot use the Paypal links or logos??? eBay blames Paypal & the other way around every time I ask for help.

I still to this day cannot use Paypal links or logos. Newby buyers are TOTALLY CONFUSED as how to pay so they are very inconvenienced having to follow my step by step instructions on how to pay by going directly to Paypa. I'm COMPLETELY losing bids of buyers who search with the "accepts Paypal" filter turned on. I use that filter, so I know that sports card buyers use that. No one that has Paypal wants to use snail mail and have to wait for stuff to clear, etc. I'M LOSING ALL OF THOSE BIDDERS, AND I DESPERATELY NEED THE MONEY! So I'm selling items, probably for less than they would have if the buyers saw the Paypal logos.

I asked eBay for full credit for ALL their fees until they can figure out how to fix this. They sent me a generic, pre-filled out form stating how they are a business and they provide a service and cannot afford to allow me to sell things for free. CAN YOU BELIEVE THEM?

I'll take a polygraph test to prove that everything I've stated here is 100% true. It seems like there's absolutely nothing I can do. I'm helpless and in eBay's clutches and I'm livid! SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I have called every number to paypal and tried every Fax number I can find. The company who charged me fraudulently emailed me and said it was their fault, but I can't get this info to PayPal and my account is 'limited' (which means NONE.) Its from www.skype.com and someone in England charged it. I have dozens of back-and-forth emails from Paypal and skype, and every one of them from PP is a form letter. Skype emailed me and said "yes, you're right, it wasn't you, we're sorry blah blah blah" but I have no way to get this info to Paypal. I'm new to the boards, can anyone help? Thanks...

Paypal's policy to limit ones account for the maximum of 180 days sole purpose as disclosed in their limitation was for the event of disputed charges or CHARGEBACKS. Forgive me if im wrong, but Most credit cards only offer 60 day chargeback window. Paypal's policy states buyer complaints can only be honored in a 45 day window. A buyer complaint are funds not necessarily funded by a credit card, but a bank draft or funds that are currently available at the time of purchase. Of course the TOS states 180 days we agreed blah blah...
Has anyone tried to lawfully break that 120 day empty unjustified space. Their STILL abiguous TOS will not hold up well in court. Paypal is THEY MONEY Laundering COMPANY

Well, another frozen account. Here´s the story
I am premium paypal member for several years now and never had any troubles, well i just transfered around 1000 Euro in those years.

A few weeks ago i was able to get a hold on 11 XBoxes, selling them via Ebay.
All buyers payed me with Paypal and well it was good business (god knows why, everytime i received a payment i transfered it to my bank account at once)

Now i sold the last one, another 400 Pound (this time i didn´t start a bank transfer, just wanted to use the money to get other ebay stuff for xmas)

Next day, woke up, email from paypal: Account limited.
3 Claims i had to fix: ID, Money Laundery (6500 UKP+), Address info

Well, called the german customer center, sent everything they wanted and waited.
Ok, another mail...now they wanted prov of the xboxes i have sold
Good, i sent them everything i had (shippment info, names, etc.)
Calling customer service again, yes everything ok, no problem account will be released the next days.

Today: mail from service@paypal.com -> PayPal has reviewed your account in response to your appeal. We regret to
inform you that we are no longer able to have you as a customer. most of you know the rest...

Again calling customer center, WHY ????
They tell me i wasn´t willing to send proov of shippment information. I tell him, review my faxes, i have sent them...Answer: oh, well, i don´t know write an email to appeal@paypal.com

Wrote the email, got back an automated email to use the webforms when writing to paypal (aaaaargh)
Done that now, i don´t think i will get my account back anyways.

Even if the german phone support is very friendly, they have no chance to help you...everything is done from UK anyways. So they can just tell you: We are sorry...

To my understanding, paypal makes their profit off $.xx each transaction and x.x% for credit card fees. Due to the fact that they are one of the worlds' largest scammers, sorry credit card merchants leads me to believe VISA/MASTER/DISCOVER/AMEX are charging a low proccessing rate. How low? Im not exactly sure, lets assume its 1%. How could a company have a net percentage rate of 1.x% calculated by your base rate(personal,premier,business)+.30 per transaction MINUS what Paypal pays VISA/MASTER/DISCOVER/AMEX and be able to offer their card holders 1.5% instant cash back?

THIS IS HOW
There is nothing like this program on the US market where cash purchases are rewarded with CASH BACK. Go to your local bank and try to find a 1.5% cash back reward using your debit card, its unheard of! Paypal baits you in with that 1.5% expecting their users to leave the funds in paypal to splurge with your Debit Mastercard for that 1.5% reward. Once Paypal sees a significant amount of $$$ in ones account, they will audit you and use excuses such as security, normal procedure, activity not normal, crap like that. They are hoping to find that 1 flaw about you, your account, your customers, your products... THEN BOOM INSTANT FREEZE ON YOUR ACCOUNT 180 days you know the rest..
Paypal then says, glad you liked that 1.5% cash back because WE ARE going to make 1000% profit off your balance and we have 180 days to do it! LOL
BTW after we are done screwing you over, we will close your account. have a nice day.

I am a dog breeder & I have used Paypal for years with no problems to accept my payments. About a month ago my account was frozen & a neg. balance of $1200.appeared. I call them & they said that the person who paid me MAY have used fraudlent funds to pay me with so they are investigating. Well I emailed them the proof that they needed (that the woman got her puppy.) I contacted her - she says its all paypal none of her doing & that they froze her account & want her to fax in a gazillion things to prove its her account. I cant get any answers or emails returned. I have a website & now will have to find an alternative payment method. In the meantime, this is a major hassle & an embarrasment. I was just the seller, I upheld my end!! If she did something on her end, that should be between her & them. Why & How did I get drug into this mess???!!! My 1st reaction was to cancel my bank acct & cards. But Paypal cant legally touch those. But just to think about all the money that Paypal has made off of me & all the business - then they treat me like I did something wrong!! Needless to say I am beyond outraged!!
Well, I am DONE with PayPal!!! Anyone know anything about BidPay?? Can it be used outside of ebay?? UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

Well, long story short, buyer did a chargeback now my account is almost $500 negative. The credit card linked to the account is my mom's debit card. I do not have a bank account listed. Due the the negative balance, I can't remove the card.

Will they try to draw out the funds from the debit card? Or can I stop them from doing that without having to convince my mom to change her bank info.

I have been a member since 2000. I recently started selling Xboxs on ebay. Everyone receieved and xbox no fraud at all. After providing all the information they request receipts that i owned Xboxes they decided to freeze my account based on my credit score.

what can i do?
Its seriously a large sum of money. Money i need to live on :(
These Xboxs were purchased on my debit card, so im not trying to decrease my credit rating by getting credit cards and racking up charges and using paypal to cash in. I assume that is what they think

Please help!

Has anyone encountered Paypal freezing their accounts because of a mysterious "link" to another account? All Paypal will tell me is that my account has been frozen because it has been linked to another account of someone with the same last name. I can't even make a purchase because most people on Ebay will only take Paypal, and I can't even use my debit card through their lousy site. I did everything they required of me to "re-verify" my information, they said 24 hours to review my case, then a week goes by and I have heard nothing. Then you call and get the same line over and over and over. no one is willing to help, and no one is willing to tell you why you have been frozen for something that you did not do. Does any one have any ideas?

This is the second time in <4 months that my paypal account has been limited, Why do they do it? On the 8th I received payment from a site for $4000 USD. There was no item being bought or sold, It was a payout for being an affiliate of an advertising website. They are legit, and I have received money from them for well over a year now.

According to the paypal rep I talked to, after receiving the money, I apparently transferred the money into my bank account 'too fast'. According to the lady its best to let it sit for a day or two before or else it might show up as suspcious activity. If I didnt have 3 people awaiting money IRL I probably wouldve left it in there for a few days.

So basicially here I am trying to resolve the issues with there resolution center, And they told me I have to confirm that the "item" was shipped to the person who payed me. Now I told them there was NO ITEM, nothing was sold. The lady said ok just email all the information to appeal@paypal.com. And that I may have to fax some documents to them still. So they reveresed my transfers to the bank account now. I've got 2 out of 6 things left to confirm, One being fax documentation. the other being provide proof of shipping. What am I to do? I cant provide any proof of shipping because there wasnt any.

I contacted both paypal and the person who payed me the money to verify what I said was true. Is there any other way I can go about getting my money back? I cant really be waiting a 1-3 weeks for them to resolve a stupid issue like this.

edit- One more question I have, is about my other paypal account which still is limited also from back in october. Ive completed everything except entering the expanded use number. The account currently has 600 dollars in it, "Enter Expanded Use Number for Visa Card XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-xxxx" the only problem is I dont have the credit card anymore, the account is over 2 years old and Ive since cancelled that CC and cannot confirm it. I told the paypal person on the phone that and she said alright let me forward you to a higher level or something like that. and then they said alright you can skip that, just fax the documents adn your account will be unlimited.

My Paypal account was limited. I have to stop using paypal when I am selling on ebay.
In the past 3 weeks, I collected almost all the payments. I guess I cannot sell things
for as much as I can before. But it's safer.
You can never win a chargeback from paypal. I lost $800.00 on chargebacks. They limited
my account and take near $500 from me. I lost over $1000.00 to feed this lossers. I cannot
take any more. I am applying Propay. At least, for every chargeback, they only charge me
$15.00.

I mention it in my listing. "I DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL"
So far, I didn't have any trouble with it. Only one buyer said that she didn't see it
and would like to cancel the deal.

If you still using paypal, be prepared. Someday, they will lock your account and take
your money away.

Too bad, they have the power and money to do whatever they want.

Mine and my husbands accounts were locked as we started doing a large volume
sales the last 6 weeks for fraudulent activity. We have faxed in everything
requested and all items have been shipped out. We have provided proof of sources
and tracking #'s but we are still locked. Now they have locked the account of
someone we do business with in this town because they say they linked us together.
I have sent them money once and they have sent me money a couple of times. We do
not share a computer name phone address or anything other than the same ISP. Is there
anything we can do?

I have a wrong contact info, as I have used a prepaid credit card, after getting wrongfully suspended. I used a wrong contact info in paypal and ebay. The only thing they know about me is my bank account number, which I plan to close tomorrow and switch it to a different account(same bank though). Will the paypal ask my bank about my info? What will happen to me? What should I do?

Many entrepreneurs have come online with the hope of building a dream. They come across Paypal.com, with the promise that they can easily accept payments online without having to have a real merchant account. Over the last few years, more and more merchants have had their account frozen with funds and all, and paypal would just tell them, "Sorry, you screwed up by breaking our policies, so now we get to keep your money for 180 days."

I always thought that if it happened to a merchant, he was obviously an idiot and deserved to have his account closed. I always thought that as long as I'm selling a legitimate product and follow all the rules, that it will never happen to me.

Well, it sure shows what I know, don't it? Here's my experience with them and I pray you take this very seriously as it's 100% true.

Anyway, I'll tell you know why Paypal closed my account and you tell me what you think.

On June 18th, I was in San Diego on vacation with my wife and children. My son was two and half years old and my daughter was just 13 months old. On Monday, June 20, we were going to go to Sea World and maybe even the San Diego Zoo if time permitted it.

So we got up from the Hotel that morning, I went to check-out.

We then drove to a nearby Chevron to gas up the car I had rented. It was a Dodge Ram full-sized SUV.

Anyway, when I tried to get my Paypal debit card to activate the pump, it wouldn't work. It kept saying denied.

I know I had several thousand dollars in there so I couldn't figure what had happened.

So I called Paypal. The rep told me that my account had been closed because of a violation of their "Acceptable Use Policy".

Imagine, I didn't have ANY cash with me. My bank account was EMPTY because I had full faith in Paypal and never expected to suddenly be back-stabbed like that.

Suddenly I was stranded in San Diego, without a way to gas-up the vehicle to get back home, without a way to pay for the rental of the vehicle, and worst of all, without a way to take my wife and kids to breakfast since they were all hungry already.

So you can imagine the stress and anguish I was going through.

Every time a Paypal employee told me, "Sorry, your account was closed down for a violation and there's nothing I can do about that to help you."

I would respond, "I understand. So that means that I still have to go higher in order to speak to someone who can help me. Please, connect me with your manager or whoever is right above you."

I kept slowly working my way up and being sent to different departments, getting one "sorry" after another. Until I finally spoke to a very helpful girl in the "resolutions" department.

She said that only someone from the "compliance" department was going to be able to help me. She told me that they don't have an in-going phone number on that department, so she needed to send them an email and someone from that department would call me shortly.

She sent them the email along with my cell phone number so that they can call me. I hung up to wait for their call.

This whole ordeal started around 10 AM and it was now noon. I had been on the phone trying to elicit sympathy for nearly two hours.

I knew it would be a while until Paypal called me, so to take my family's mind off their hunger, I said, "Hey, why don't we go to the beach and play on the sand for a little while?"

That got my wife and kids excited so we went there. Finally, at round 3:21 PM, I got that call from Teresa from the "Compliance" department.

She said that once paypal closes an account they have the right to keep the money for 180 days and that they will not re-open an account.

I then proceeded to tell her the following...

"Teresa, before you make your final decision, please hear me out for a second. I'm in San Diego, California on vacation with my family. That's over 200 miles from where I live in Arizona.

"I noticed my account being frozen at around 10 AM when I left the hotel and tried to gas up the car. It's already 3:30 PM. I haven't been able to give my wife and kids breakfast nor lunch. My stomach is rumbling from the extreme starvation I'm going through and I know that my wife and children are too.

"I'm stranded here in San Diego with no way to get back home. Paypal has placed me in the most desperate situation in my life and... I'm scared. I don't know what will become of us, what to do, or who to turn to.

"Teresa, I understand if you don't have the authority to unfreeze my account and give me access to the money. I can't blame you if you don't, but if you could at least let me access $200, I would be so grateful to you. Just that at least so I can gas up the car, take my family to eat and get us home."

So after listening to me, I think she felt pity for me, or maybe even compassion. I know I was being sincere and truthful and I was hoping she could tell that I was.

So she proceeded to tell me why Paypal froze the account and what she could do for me to unfreeze it right away.

She said that paypal does not allow the sales of "Matrix, MLM, Pyramid Schemes, or Get Rich Quick" type products.

She said that the site I had just launched, MyResellRightsClub.com, falls under the "MLM" description.

I couldn't understand how it could be considered MLM since I wasn't paying anyone different levels of commissions, nor was I charging different levels either. She said that by selling the rights to resell a product to someone else and that person sells the product over and over again, it constitutes MLM type activity.

I thought to myself, "What??!! Since when did the definition for Multi-Level Marketing change to include selling resell rights as part of it?" I knew that it was the most screwed-up, twisted way of seeing it that I had ever heard. Selling resell rights does NOT fall under any of the categories mentioned above... not by a long shot.

But I didn't want to argue with her, considering that she was willing to help me. I wouldn't want her to suddenly say, "You know what? I change my mind, I can't help you."

So I asked her, "Then what can I do?"

She said, "Simply remove Paypal from being one of the payment options from your site and don't make any mention of Paypal on it anywhere.

"Then log into Paypal, agree with an affidavit that will come up when you log in. After you agree with it, it will come to my department. I'll get someone to review it and unfreeze your account right away. You should have access to all your funds before 5 PM today."

As you can imagine, I was VERY happy to hear that and I immediately set out to look for a computer with internet access.

I went to the Hyatt Harbor hotel and asked one of the managers there if they would be kind enough to allow me to use a computer with Internet access. I told them the whole story and that I wouldn't take more than ten minutes to do the work I need to do.

She allowed me to go ahead and use their computer.

I made the changed to my site, logged into paypal, agreed with their affidavit, and logged out.

I then called Paypal again to let them know that I went through all the steps and that the ball was on their court now.

It was already around 4:30 PM and I was heading back to the beach to see how my wife and kids were holding up.

As I was walking by, I noticed an ATM machine outside a shop near the beach. I went to try and withdraw $20, just to see if there was any change yet, and EUREEKA! It Worked! They had already unfrozen my account and had access to my money again!

So I literally sprinted to find my wife and kids to take them to lunch.

I was so happy you wouldn't believe it.

However, the worst thing that could ever happen to me happened.

Instead of seeing Paypal as it was, the biggest bunch of idiots on this side of the Mississippi, I saw them as Heroes! I kept thinking, "Wow, they really do have compassionate people who care!" So instead of seeing them as a risk, I became even more loyal thinking that they're the best company out there.

I should have noticed all the red flags come up when Paypal decided to redefine the meaning of MLM, but somehow I didn't see them. I was so happy that someone actually showed that they cared enough to help me and re-open my account, that I couldn't see any warning signs if they slapped me in the face.

I continued doing business as usual, but this time, I made sure I didn't use paypal to sell resell rights to any product. I made sure that I didn't make any "get rich" statements or claims on my sites and I was always reading their policies just to make sure I don't break them and get myself into trouble again.

Everything was going smoothly. My business was thriving again and I couldn't be happier.

Then November 4th came...

I received an email from PayPal with the subject, "Notification of Limited Account Access"

Now, I always get those because it's from internet scammers trying to fool me into thinking that it really is Paypal. They fool thousands of people on a daily basis that way.

I expected to see the salutation say something like, "Dear Paypal User," instead it said, "Dear Jaime Ojeda,".

That's when I knew it was really from Paypal. I tried logging into my account and I got that big warning screen that my account was "Limited" because I had violated their Acceptable Use Policy.

The email pointed again to the same URL they had given me back in June. In case you're curious, here's the link so you can take a look for yourself.

http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/ua/use/index_frame-outside&ed=rich_quick

I went through the whole process that I did when I was in San Diego. I finally spoke to a guy in the "Acceptable Use" department (which is also the "compliance" department). When he called me, I said, "David, I'm really glad you called me, I really need your help my friend."

He replied, "Of course, I'll be happy to help you, what's up?" At first, he seemed kind and understanding. He listened to me very respectfully as I told him the whole story of what had happened to me last time and how happy I was that Paypal helped me out.

I told him that for some reason, someone closed my account again and I don't even know why since I had been very careful to not sell anything that violated their "Acceptable Use Policy" or AUP for short.

I stressed that I really loved Paypal and that I had full faith in them, which is why I kept doing business with paypal and hardly every withdrew the money from the account.

*SIDE NOTE - Looking back now, I know that leaving any money in Paypal is a BIG MISTAKE. I now understand this and I really hope that other people will listen to this and stop using that company before it's too late.

After I got done talking David proceeded to say, "Well, we closed your account because you DID violate our AUP." So I then asked him, "Please David, how did I violate that? And help me to fix whatever errors I may have made."

He said, "There's a site where you claim to turn $300 a month to $4,000 a month. Those are 'get-rich-quick' claims and Paypal will simply not tolerate that. I'm sorry, but I will not allow this account to be opened again."

When he told me that, I couldn't believe how cold and insensitive he sounded, but what he said next will even make your blood boil. He said, "To be honest with you, I wouldn't have even allowed your account to be re-opened when we closed it back in June. I'm going to investigate to find out who authorized it and do something about it. But that's nothing that concerns you, it's an internal matter that I will take care of."

At that moment, I knew I wasn't speaking to a human anymore. How could anyone be so heartless, with no sense of compassion? Had it been him I spoke to back in June, he would have most likely told me, "I don't care if you, your wife, and kids die, I won't allow you to have access to your funds." Can you imagine that?

So I then asked him, "David, how could you be so cold of heart? I've have placed my entire lively hood on Paypal and suddenly, you're leaving me out in the streets with no hope at all... how could you not care if you destroy a whole family like that?"

He replied, "My job here is not to care but to protect Paypal's integrity. You're a liability to Paypal and you stain our name when you violate our AUP. That's why I will not allow this to be re-opened and I'll find out who allowed your account to be re-opened last time and put that person in his or her place."

At that moment I remembered what product of mine mentioned turning $300 into $4,000 a month. It's the one located here:

http://www.WorkFromHomeSpecials.com/bigprofits

If you scroll down a little over half way, you'll find a paragraph that says the following:

"Another client, selling a $20 recipe from the public domain, was struggling to make $300 a month. After working together, he started offering more information (in his case it was an ezine) to the visitors to his site and went from $300 one month to $4000 very quickly. This huge increase was in no small part because he could now make sales to people who didn't buy on the first visit!"

I tried reasoning with David and told him, "David, please read that paragraph carefully. Notice that I'm not making any kind of 'get-rich-quick' claim. I'm merely stating an example of how a client went from $300 a month to $4,000 a month after he started building his own list of subscribers.

"He now makes that money because he keeps in constant contact with his visitors. I'm simply quoting an example and I'm not making sensationalist claims. Notice that even the last line on that paragraph says, 'You should know that these are extraordinary results and are not typical.'

"Can't you see the difference between making an earnings claim and stating an example? How many people complained that I was making get-rich-quick claims? What gives you the right to redefine something just so you can penalize a merchant and keep his money?"

Since I could tell that he wasn't going to do anything to help me, I didn't care now if I offended him. Well, after I said those words to him, he got even more apprehensive.

He then said, "We have the right to do whatever we choose. It's our account you're using and we reserve the right to do business with whomever we choose to do business with. If Paypal says that you made a claim, then you made a claim and we can no longer work with you. Sorry but I will not allow this account to be re-opened and you can no longer do business with Paypal. As far as the funds are concerned, we reserve the right to hold your funds for 180 days, for your protection. Is there anything else I can help you with?"

I simply replied, "So that's what you've been doing all along? Helping me? Thanks but no thanks, you've 'helped' me quite enough for one day... have a nice day." And I just hung up.

I can tell you right now just how stupid I feel for having put my faith in such an unethical, moron-filled company.

I can't believe that they can just redefine a term in order to screw you over like that, but as David said, they can do whatever they want to do, since it's their account. And I'm really glad they are going to hold my money for 180 days "for my protection". Oh, I feel so secure and protected now... thank you Paypal!

I now HATE Paypal and I know that their days are numbered. They are biting the hand that feeds them and soon they will see just what a big mistake that was.

Any moment they will freeze the wrong person's account who will be able to take them to court and put them out of business. When that happens, I'll be dancing a jig of joy and happiness.

Now, if you think this could never happen to you and you're still convinced that Paypal is THE BEST, like I used to, don't be surprised when they close you down and leave you out in the streets.

Here's what you should do...

Go to Screw-PayPal.com and educate yourself. There are MANY more horror stories like mine. I've known of that site for a long time, I thought that they were just fables made up to discredit PayPal, but now I understand that they are all true.

I was one of the biggest Paypal supporters out there. I promoted Paypal everywhere and I was personally responsible for referring hundreds of new merchants to Paypal which has put thousands of dollars in Paypal's pockets. In fact, when I was trying to reason with David, I even said to him...

"After being one of your most loyal advocates... after personally referring hundreds of new merchants to you guys which has put thousands of dollars in your pockets, this is how you repay me?"

His answer was, "And we thank you very much. But that doesn't change the fact that you are a liability and I can't allow you to continue to use Paypal anymore because you violated our AUP. Sorry."

I urge you, if you're using Paypal, not to get too comfortable. Sooner or later, this will happen to you and I hope that you haven't tied all your lively hood on this unscrupulous company. Hopefully you are wise enough to learn from other people's mistakes. I wasn't and look what happened to me.

The old proverb proved to be right when it says, "Experience is learning from your own mistakes. Wisdom is learning from someone else's."

My respect goes to the good people are PayPalSucks.com who have been trying to warn us about Paypal for a long time and I dismissed them as lunatics. I owe them my apologies.

So, again, if you're using Paypal, STOP IT. Get yourself a real merchant account. PaypalSucks.com offers some good alternatives to Paypal. I have my own merchant account now and I couldn't be happier. You should do the same.

Paypal really does suck and so does Ebay. I sold a credit card machine not long ago and some idiot who didn't win posted $90 to my Paypal account.... I refunded the money and thought nothing else of it... then he paid me again! I refunded his money again but this time Paypal deducted it from my bank account instead of my PP acount... which caused me to be overdrawn and 5 checks bounced costing me $30 each... When I emailed PP they never responded.

BOYCOTT PAYPAL and EBAY!

They took out £216.09 out of my account without my permission, because a buyer filed a claim against me saying a mobile phone didnt work when i works perfectly! Now the buyer is in possesion of the phone, and they have refunded him with £216.09!

This really sucks! what can i do? i phoned them and a foreign lady answered, she didnt understand so i then asked to speak to somebody english! she still rejected and said there was nothing she could do about it!

What other money sites can i use? This site really sucks

Now that my account balance is minus.. (-£216.09) will they try and take the funds out of my bank account, or can i leave it like that and just bugar off from the site?

Hello,

Here is my strange dilema.

I have been ebaying for quite a while using dropshipping.
Xbox 360 mania hit and I decided to drop ship a few 360's.
I finally find someone who has some and email him to see if he has any in stock.
He tells me that he has some in stock with more on the way.
So, I sell a few and go and pay for the items.
On the invoice I recieve it clearly states the date that the items are being shipped.
When I email him a day before shipping, he says that his suppliers did not come through.
So, I say ok, I will be needing a full refund.
Well... everything was going according to plan until paypal limits my account, which blocks the refunds.
Well, the dilema is that I am needing those refunds back so I can send them back to my customers.
I've been on the phone with paypal many times and finally get all but 2 back.
The next to last one is "suppose" to come back to me as soon as the review the dispute I placed on it,
which according to paypal policy, is 10 days.
The other one is still in limbo until that limit can be removed.
I have done everything they said including waiting for a letter that took 2 weeks to get there instead of 1.
My customers have been pretty cool and patient, but I hate to keep them waiting.
Paypal has kept putting me off and putting me off.
What should I do?

So my Paypal account is limited, can you believe it? </scarcasism>

I will just sum up what is going on...I bought about..4 items on eBay (christmas is coming up) and my PayPal account got limited..Great..So, at first I thought that since they limited my account AFTER I sent in the eChecks to the sellers on eBay, that there was no way PayPal could cancel the payments...Wrong!..See the thing is, PayPal has no problem with taking my money, but they do have a problem with me paying the sellers on eBay. Wonderful.

So now I have this whole 180 days thing..What is that anyway? Are they holding my money for 180 days? or do I have to take my funds out of my account within 180 days?..I'm screwed by them either way because if I don't do something within 180 days, they will keep my money, and if I want to send it back, they dare pay me a service charge?!

But heres the thing, since I bought one item off of eBay one day before the other 3, they canceled that payment earlier than the rest..So I figured if I just went to my bank, and took out enough money from my account, PayPal wouldn't be able to take any money from me, right? Wrong. PayPal sucked my account right down to -16.00, what the hell??...They took money that wasn't there! And now I have to wait to get it back?!

So since there was some money in my paypal account, I decided to send it to my bank account. Today I checked my paypal, and it says that it completed sending money to my bank..But yet my bank balance is still the same...Did my money just dissapear?

I cannot believe after using paypal for 4 years, just giving them money left & right...they told me that because I didn't pay extra for a tracking #,(my buyers pay this fee),on a pkg.to Germany, and of course, the guy said he never got it,paypal just took the money out of my account, gave it to him, and then froze it!! I mean, what the ----???? I don't think I've been so freakin mad, and not a thing I can do about it. Oh Yeah, I'll sign anything you need, bring it on.

Paypal limited my account again this year for the third time. They seem have not learned their lesson. Last couple times, I involved Attorney General and District Attorney in the case, Paypal act like a bi@tch and lift the limit on my account. The amount this time 8k is way less than last time (~14k) and they suspicious my account again.

Way to go merchant account.

Ok, so paypal just locked my accounts. Heres what happened:

I have two accounts , a premier account and a personal account. I found out that paypal had two 10% off coupons (max $25) and figured out that if I sent $250 between my two accounts then I could get $25 (before fees) for free. But I needed $250 in my account to begin with and I didn’t, so my friend lets me use his account.

So now I had access to three accounts: my friend’s premier (let’s call this account A from now on), my premier (account B) and my personal (account C). With three accounts and two coupons, I could get $150 for free. They also had $15 off and $5 off coupons, so I could get even more.

Account A started with $0.00 in it, B started with $80.00 and C started with $1.00. I still didn’t have the $250 I needed to maximize the coupon, so I added my credit card to account A.

Then with account B, I send a request of $250 (for a random ebay item number I found on ebay) to account A. Account A paid account B with the credit card and coupon and was only charge $225, but account B received $250. Then account C sends a $250 request to account B. Account B pays Account C using coupon code, Account B is -$225 and Account C is +$250.

I’ll try to draw a time line of what happened
Credit card: -$225
Account B: +$250
Account B: -$225 (balance is now $105, gain of $25)
Account C: +$250
.
.
.

So I send the money around the three accounts until I’ve used all the coupons. And in the end I leave the accounts with balances of: -$225 on my credit card, $0.00 on account A, $370 on account B and $80 in account C. I end up with a profit of $144 because of all the fees, but hey, it was free.

So, everything seems fine until two days later. I get an email from paypal saying my account has been limited. I check the other accounts and they’ve been limited too. So now I have $450 stuck in paypal and a $225 credit card bill.

I started reading about how to unlock my account and they want me to fax my id, blank statement and utility bill. Also, they want to check my credit, call my house to verify and address, and charge my credit card for $1.95 to verify my credit card.

So, i thought to myself, “Why do they want all this info from me? Do they want all this info so they can press charges or something?”

I call them asking why my account got limited and the guy says that they just pick random accounts to verify and mine was one of them. Why did this guy lie to me? I knew it wasn’t random; it was because I exploited their coupon.

I still wanted my account unlocked but didn’t want to verify everything by faxing them all my info. So I decided to call them and say my account got hacked in and say I didn’t make any of those transactions (hoping they would reverse all of them and unlock my account so I could get the $80 I started with and $225 credit to my credit card) the guy one the phone said I looked like I was selling stuff back and forth to myself (which is what I did) and that it was some kind of fraud , but after I told him I got hacked into, he believed me said the hacker must have done it.

Two days after that, I get en email to my accounts saying that there wasn’t enough evidence to proved that my accounts got used unauthorized. Now my accounts are still locked and my money is still stuck and they still want me to verify everything.

My question is: what will happen after I verify everything? Will they just unlock my account and let me take my money our or will they reverse everything and take legal action against me?

I’m just a poor college student trying to get by and found a loophole to get free money from coupons.

Have 3 PayPal accounts, dont use one anymore, another had funds in it that I wanted to transfer to my main account, Ask Paypal how this is done and never got an answer, Imagine that!
So I did my own transfer from one of my accounts to my other (main) account, and they charged me to transfer my own money in my own accounts. Got Robbed

Notice to International Seller:

I am considering to raise a Group legal action.

Recently, I have withdrawal US$2500 from Paypal to my bank account in Hong Kong. But unfortunately, there was a fraud transaction. Paypal reversed the fraud transaction and also my withdrawal request.

Here, the problem happened, Paypal converted my USD to HKD at a rate ~7.58 and reversed the conversion at a higher rate ~7.8 without my authorization and consent. And I am losing ~US$123 because of this. (123 out of 2500 is a significant %)

Be frank, how do I know which transaction from which buyer is fraud? and I am willing to deposit the same amount of USD from my own pocket rather than having Paypal to convert for me, but they never give me a chance to do so.

If you are new to Paypal, please aware of this and reserve a significant amount of money in your Paypal account. I was being very careful but still lose twice on this.

If you have suffered this before, please contact me at centraforce@gmail.com. I have consulted my lawyer in the US and he said the case is valid for a legal action, once the amount is significant enough.

Please understand I am not unreasonable person, who will take a legal action because of 123USD!? I have written to Paypal for settlement, but a staff named Dieter of Paypal Global Services simply said Paypal is not responsible for this, without offering any help.

Maybe we should let the judge decide whether Paypal is responsible for the loss of unauthorized currency conversion. I do want to see Paypal becoming another "anti-trust" monopoly.

Sorry if this email has caused you an trouble.

Should we raise another electronic money company together?

The did it to me on NOV 9th!! and after faxing allt he documents, they decide to LIMITE my account for 180 Days!

I asked them why?? because this is my money and I have the right to know why they are holding it for 180 days, and they are said this is an internal information ONLY!

What should I do? Please, I need to pay my supplier, and I have 100% Feedback rating on eBay, and dont have any bad dispute history with PAYPAL!! why are they doing this on me!!!????

Help is needed,,,, thanks!

Paypal has placed a -206 on my account for a transaction from unauthorized funds. I had about $36 in there from a previous auction that is now gone. Which brings my amount to about $162. I have removed them from my auctions list and will never use them again. Now I cant send the items to the sellers who paid me for their items. Otherwise I would lose!

"Dear Mr.,

It has come to our attention that you may be the recipient of potentially unauthorized funds. We have initiated an investigation into this event. In the meantime, we have placed a temporary hold on the funds in question until the investigation is complete. This temporary hold will show as a deduction in your available balance. In the meantime, you are free to continue transacting using your PayPal account." -Hah!

I have a personal and a premier account- I was using my personal account to pay for something last night when- boom I get this --YOUR account has been limted for your protection:

Nov. 6, 2005 Change Password Waiting for your response

The thing is,

3) I have completed everystep, just waiting for the two bank deposits...
Other people I know are telling me to close my premier and do a chargeback and DON'T wait for them to reinstate me!

ANY ADVISE?!

I sold a lot of things on eBay one day, it added up to almost $5000. $2000 of that got paid to me and then PayPal sent me the following email:
As part of our security measures, we regularly screen activity in the PayPal system. We recently noticed the following issue on your account:

PayPal occasionally performs credit checks on selected account holders. Your account has been selected to go through this process. We must complete a credit review in order for the warning on your account to be lifted. In most cases, the account holder\'s personal credit is analyzed using a Social Security number and an address likely to generate a match with a credit bureau. Please log into your PayPal account to provide this information. If an examination of your business credit would be more appropriate, please contact our customer service department to supply your Tax ID number.

Now I absolutely refuse to give them my SSN. My feedback has gone so low because I cant make any more money that I dont know else to do except block eBay and PayPal from access to my bank account. People are negging me because they cant pay for things they won, for items not received because PP froze the money; etc. How can they turn an honest business (my feedback was near powerseller level before this) into something the customer thinks is a fraud and then make the seller liable? am I liable? if I dont do anything will they come after me legally for the money (pp account is currently -$1500) and I dont know exactly WHAT to do. I hadnt counted on PP freezing me without notice like this. HELP!

I was a Paypal user till yesterday. I am a merchant. I got a payment from a client through Paypal. Paypal statement said that the payment is completed. I processed and delivered the product. After 24 hours, the statement changed from "COMPLETED" to "HELD" and NOW it is in "PLACED". Paypal took back the money. No reply from the Help Center also.

I have one more personal account and I got money in that. Now I am unable to send money, because the account was made as LIMITED. The reason told by Paypal is that the Credit Card associated with the account is reported to be a STOLEN or LOST card. They had given a Case ID also.

But the truth is, I had never added any Credit Card to that account and never used any Credit Card with that account. So I searched the case ID and it says that NO SUCH CASE ID FOUND.

I think that Paypal does like this and takes the users money. The only option I have is recieve fund. I can not close also. This is against the normal human rights. I am not allowed to access my money and close my account.

Hey all,
Here's my story (what I can remember) in short. After selling lots of high-dollar items there were two orders that we were unable to fullfill. Since Paypal was 'investigating' this for such a long period we went ahead and sent these people money orders ($2000 worth!) as refunds. We spoke with Paypal on numerous occasions and told them that these people had been taken care of. I believe the other parties called to tell them this was resolved as well. Even with all this Paypal went ahead and sent these people the money from our account. They got refunded twice.
We filed a dispute and Paypal asked us to fax in copies of the money orders, which we did. Some time later we called to follow up and they asked us to fax this in again. This went on at least 5-6 times.

Obviously after all this time I have basically given up, but every time I think about it it pisses me off, as you can imagine.

Any ideas for me?

I have used ebay and Paypal for years and I didn't have a single problem until I started to sell things on ebay. I would sell clothes I had bought that didn't fit or if I couldn't get a refund I would just sell it. Recently, in these past three days my account has been limited FOUR times! They said I was a victim of phishing. Then they said I needed to verify my identity. Next excuse was that I needed to fax in my supplier info (my supplier being EBAY!). And now I need to verify shipping information but their retarded system doesn't work and there's nowhere to fill in the info I need to enter! No boxes or anything. I called and the idiot on the other end told me my account was linked with another and I needed to use that one! Well I have one account with two email addresses so I cant use it at all. They're idiots. Now all my money is tied up in my limited account crap and they won't do anything about it! It's so frustrating, I am never selling anything on ebay again. It seems like as soon as I put some money in my account or receive a payment my account is limited- EVERY TIME!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Don't sell things on ebay!!! Paypal will take your money as soon as it hits your account!
I sold $500.00 worth of movie posters to a buyer who I later found out was using a credit card that didnt belong to him. I lost my posters AND PayPal decided that I had to pay the $500.00 which as of a few days ago went to a collection agency. So, if I dont pay the money my credit will be hurt. So, I have no choice but to send them the money. What I cannot understand is how a company can let a scam artist get away with my posters AND money? They should be sending HIM the bill.......not me. Well, I will NEVER use PayPal again and I am telling everyone who even THINKS of using them, not to.
Pay pal has limited my account because they claim it is linked to another one with similar information which i have no idea about. They wont unlock it until i pay them $175 bucks because thats what this other persons owes them. Is the even legal? I have no idea who owns this other account but they cant make me pay for someone else debt because information is similar. What do i do?
